Notes from the edit suite
v1.4.2 · 1 October 2026
Mail with the right name on it
Messages from the contact form and mailing-list box now arrive from theband@swaling.uk, signed SWALING, instead of the old satn.co.uk address. Nothing changes for visitors; it just means the inbox matches the new name.
- Contact and sign-up emails now sent from SWALING <theband@swaling.uk>
v1.4.1 · 1 October 2026
Stamped
The band now has a seal: a burn-line S inside a gold ring, the way it would look pressed into a vinyl label. It replaces the little square icon in the browser tab and on phone home screens, and it is on hand as a round logo for search engines and social profiles.
- Browser-tab icon is now the round seal (ring and burn-line S)
- Home-screen icon is the full seal with the band name and subline around the ring
- seal.png added as a ready-made 512px round logo, and declared as the band’s logo for search engines
v1.4.0 · 1 October 2026
A proper address
SWALING now lives at swaling.uk. The old satn.co.uk address and the www versions all forward there, so every old link, bookmark and search result still finds its way home.
- Site moved to swaling.uk
- satn.co.uk, www.satn.co.uk and www.swaling.uk all redirect to swaling.uk
- Share links and search-engine canonical addresses point at the new domain
v1.3.1 · 1 October 2026
Dressed for the share
Paste the link into WhatsApp, Facebook or Slack and it now unfurls with the SWALING burn-line wordmark over the fog and the tor, instead of a plain photo. The hero title also got a tiny nudge so the tracked-out letters sit properly in the middle of the screen.
- New social share image (1200×630) with the SWALING wordmark
- Hero title optically centred, as the brand guidelines specify
v1.3.0 · 1 October 2026
New name, who dis
Susannah and the Noise are now SWALING. The big title, the logo, the footer, the browser tab, the search description and the emails the forms send all say the new name. The old name stays tucked into the site description so anyone searching for it still finds the way here. The web address is still the old one for now.
- Opening-screen title, nav logo and footer now read SWALING in the new burn-line wordmark (bone above the line, gold fading to ember below)
- New browser-tab and home-screen icon: the S from the wordmark with the burn line through it
- Page titles, search description and structured data updated; old name kept as an alternate name
- Contact and mailing-list emails now say SWALING
v1.2.2 · 25 September 2026
Mind your a
It’s SaTN, not SATN. The big title on the opening screen was quietly shouting the whole name in capitals; now the little a gets to be little, there and on the browser tab and phone home-screen icon too.
- Opening-screen title now reads SaTN instead of SATN
- Browser tab and home-screen icon redrawn as Sa over TN
v1.2.1 · 25 September 2026
No ghost gigs
The gig list now lives in the band’s Google Sheet and nowhere else. If the sheet ever goes quiet, the site owns up with “No Gigs booked at the moment, sorry!” instead of quietly dusting off an old list of dates.
- Shows come only from the Google Sheet; the old built-in list is gone
- “No Gigs booked at the moment, sorry!” when the sheet can’t be read or nothing is coming up
v1.2.0 · 25 September 2026
Up Jordan grows up; Thornfest bows out
The raw mix has had its moment: the featured video is now the proper Up Jordan film from the Lost Tapes of Dartmoor, Ernest Warren’s voice still stitched right through it. Less happily, Saturday’s Thornfest show is off. It stays on the list so nobody thinks they imagined it, clearly marked Cancelled, with the ticket link gone.
- Featured video swapped for the new Up Jordan film (the raw mix has gone from YouTube)
- Video label now reads “Lost Tapes of Dartmoor” instead of “Raw mix”
- Shows can now be marked cancelled: type “Cancelled” in the tickets column of the sheet
- Cancelled shows keep their spot, lose the ticket button, and are skipped by the “Next show” line
- Thornfest (26 Sept) marked cancelled
v1.1.0 · 24 September 2026
The film arrives, and the songs speak
The opening screen now plays a clip from the Lost Tapes film itself — the winter of 1963, a figure in the blizzard, horses in the snow — dimmed down so it glows through like a projection in a dark room. Paul Harris’s photographs still step in for anyone on data saver or with reduced motion switched on. And the song cards finally make a sound: press play on any of the seven for a preview.
- Muted, looping clip from the Lost Tapes film behind the opening screen
- Photo slideshow kept as the fallback while the film loads, and for reduced motion / data saver
- Every song card now plays a preview — seven clips straight from the band’s own edits, levelled so none jumps out louder than the rest
v1.0.3 · 22 September 2026
New bassist, new icon
Welcome Rob Hart on bass. The band tile is updated, and there’s now an Instagram link at the top and bottom of the page.
- Bass: Rob Hart (replacing Simon Lee)
- Instagram link added to the opening screen and footer
v1.0.2 · 22 September 2026
Signing the work
A small credit where it’s due: the footer now says who built the site, with a link for anyone who wants one of their own.
- Footer credit: “Made with AI by www.zerofluff.co.uk”
v1.0.1 · 22 September 2026
Proper badge, proper front door
Small things that make it feel finished: the band now has its own icon in the browser tab and on phone home screens, www.satn.co.uk goes to the right place, and the logo takes you home without leaving a #top on the address.
- New SaTN favicon and home-screen icon, drawn from the real wordmark
- www.satn.co.uk now redirects to satn.co.uk
- The SaTN logo links to satn.co.uk rather than satn.co.uk/#top
v1.0.0 · 26 September 2026
The tapes are rolling
The Lost Tapes of Dartmoor gets a proper home. Rebuilt from the ground up in the same dark, cinematic look — but now the moor moves, the archive talks back, and Dan can add a gig without phoning anyone.
- Moving film loop of Paul Harris’s Dartmoor photography behind the opening screen
- Up Jordan (raw mix) front and centre, one tap to play
- Song cards that play their archive recordings
- Live show listings Dan edits from a Google Sheet
- Working contact form, and mailing list sign-ups emailed straight to the band
- New Collaborators section
